Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year.
Anyone still keeping their resolutions going?
According to UK Recruiter recruiting market is in the midst of a pretty seismic shift.
In 2018 the recruitment firms instead of stacking up resumes, companies are focusing on building relationships with great candidates.
Companies are creating experiences for candidates that feel real and human.
With so many people applying for the same job these days, you really have to stand out from the crowd.
So do your best now to put yourself in the best position tomorrow.
You want to find your dream job. Sounds great. That’s a noble goal.
But I have a question for you: what do you do BEFORE you send out your resume?
– Do you create a flawless resume? Check.
– Do you target your ideal company? Check.
– Do you become more accessible? Check.
– Do you update your social media profile? Check.
I get it. If you are seeking a new job you have to set up a LinkedIn profile to find job postings and the recruiters.
Without a professional profile with great headshot, you are invisible.
There are some dislikes having headshot picture posted online. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to get over it.
When you have a profile without a picture, the first thought is, “What is this person hiding?”.
You’ll be surprised to find that so many people often make a decision about each other before a single word has been spoken.
So what’s the very first thing to say to a recruiter?
Your appearance is the first thing you say to anyone.
You need to have professionally done headshot. You would not roll out of bed, show up in sweatpants for the interview, and hope they see you “for who you are on the inside.”
First impression counts.
Expert interviewers make their hiring decision in minutes of seeing you. (here’s scientific proof).
Make a great first impression.
Having a professional portrait of yourself is a “must have” for anyone.
